weight loss tips

1.) Drink LOTS of tea!

    • Aside from water, tea is the most beneficial no-calorie drink on the planet! I drink at least 1-2 cups of black tea in the morning (black tea has caffeine for waking up!) And I aim for 1-2 cups of green tea during the day.

      Black Tea Benefits
      -contains caffieine
      -reduces risk of heart disease
      -regulates blood sugar level
      -prevents tooth decay
      -wards off cravings

      Green Tea Benefits
      -helps burn fat
      -speeds up metabolism
      -wards off cancers
      -lowers bad cholesterol
      -contains powerful antioxidants
-contains caffeine (not as much as black tea)
      -helps ward off cravings

2.) Drink a TON of water!

Naturally after I tell you to drink alot of tea, I’m going to suggest water! I always keep water near me whether it be a glass of ice water or bottle- and did you know that if you drink ice water youll boost your metabolism by 50 calories each day? Plus water is also a hunger/craving suppressant! Alot of times we snack on food not because we are hungry, but because we are dehydrated- so drinking water when you are craving something will help you figure out whether you are actually hungry or not. Try aiming for at least six glasses of water a day, it sounds like alot, but not when you always have water on hand!

3.) Change your mindset!
Are you going on a diet? No. Instead, change your whole mindset on what you are doing, and say instead ‘I’m not dieting, I’m changing my lifestyle to eating healthier!’ If you change your mindset that your eating healthier and not restricting calories youll also have a stronger willpower to saying no to sweets. Trust me on this one:)

4.) Lose it the healthy way!
With your mindset changed, obviously the restricting has to change too. Restricting calories = fast weight loss, loss of effectiveness of metabolism, and weight gain becomes easier. When you restrict your calories our body goes into ‘survival’ mode (there is a reason why people that get stranded dont die after a week with no food). Instead of burning its normal amount of calories, the body slows down our metabolism to make up for the calories its not getting, and it stays this way for a long time, not just after you decided to eat normally again. {The amount of time you restrict depends on the amount of time your metabolism stays in survival mode.) PLUS, if you restrict calories your more likely to binge calories when your hungry. Eat when your hungry! It’s like a boost for your metabolism! Just eat smaller portions than you usually do, and eat healthy!
*If you have any questions on how to lose weight the healthy way, please feel free to ask and I can elaborate on anything, even if snack ideas!;)
